Enough of the one speech one rename - General Sammie

The Nana Akuffo Addo government has significantly and more strategically embarked on a very treacherous path of rewriting the well-known history of our dear country. Enviably, one major achievement of this government is renaming.

From the very first day he took over, every major decision he has taken as president has been towards this unfathomable end.

First, Dr Kwame Nkrumah was totally written off our history books in his first independence day address on March 6, 2017. Replaced with the very people who sabotaged, dragged, impeded and openly opposed our struggle for freedom including his own father and uncle.

Today, he seeks to do it again. History is history. The President must concede that the bad memories we have of the PP and the UP tradition remain. We remember their conscious effort to keep us under colonial rule. We remember their dedicated role to the imperialist agenda. We acknowledge their selfless effort towards to imposition of servitude.

He cannot change history. The bad memories cannot be erased. The people remember.

Rather, he can create new memories. How about building the factories he promised, the one village one dam, the million dollars per constituency? Some of these projects can be named after whoever he wants.

Until then, this one speech one rename agenda must seize. Aaah ba...
