The Germany Branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has over the week end sworn in Mrs. Rebecca Adjei Sarpong as the Chairperson to lead the party for the next four years.

The Grand event which took place at the prestigious Waller Heerstrasse Theatre House on Saturday 28th April 2018 in Bremen brought together thousands of NPP supporters and sympathizers from all the sixteen states of the Federal Republic of Germany amidst drumming, dancing, jubilation.

The event also attracted Ghanaian Chiefs and Queen Mothers resident in Germany as well as Religious leaders from various denominations including Christians and Muslims, all of whom have thrown their weight behind the new chairperson, Mrs. Rebecca Adjei Sarpong - aka - OBATAMPA Becky.

In a brief introductory remark, Pastor Frederick Wulff, Founder of the Foundation Gate Ministry admonished Ghanaians to eschew cultural practices and beliefs that have the tendency to hold back women and deny them their right to be equal partners in the nation building efforts.

According to him, Ghana is endowed with a lot of talented women such as Mrs. Rebecca Adjei Sarpong who need to be encouraged and supported to tap their skills and experience to support the national development agenda

In her a speech after the Swearing in, Mrs. Chairperson thanked all members of NPP-Germany for the confidence reposed in her and assured them that she would run an all-inclusive administration in which the input and effort of every member would be recognized, respected and appreciated

According to her, now that the elections are over, the focus should be on building bridges and uniting the party for the task ahead in 2020 so that the good policies and programmes that have been initiated by the Akuffo-Addo led government continue after 2020

She announced that her promise to help the party to acquire an office in Germany would be fulfilled before the end of 2018 and said an initial loan facility of over €100.000 has been secured to assist members of the party who may be interested in going into business.

Several groups as well as individuals delivered good will and solidarity messages. Turnout of the twelve local chapters making up NPP-Germany were represented while individuals including Dr Samuel Gyedu, Dr Daniel Duah, Dr Kwadwo Wiafe (Proprietor of Ghana Waves) Mr Charles Ankamah and Mr Osei Owusu Barima presented goodwill and congratulatory messages in their personal capacities.

Also present at the ceremony were members of the current and immediate past executives such as Dr. Kweku Anane-Gyinde (Branch Secretary) Mr Kwaku Appiah (Former Branch Secretary), Ms Evelyn Garbrah (Deputy Women's Organizer) Mr. Kamal Ambassador (Nassara Coodinator) Mr Clement Akomea (Former Financial Secretary) Mr Alex Tuffour (Former Director of Communication), Mr Felix Opoku (Former Assistant Financial Secretary) and Mr Francis Brenya Benson (Former Research Officer)
