The newly-elected Northern Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Adam Baatima Samba, has paid a courtesy call on various chiefs in the region.
The chiefs include the Overlord of Mamprugu, Nayiri Naa Bohigu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga, Regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya-Naa Yakubu Abdulai Andani, the Regent of the Abudu Royal Family Boling-Lana Mahamadu Abdulai and the Overlord of the Gonjaland Traditional area, Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa I.
The visit was to thank the chiefs for their prayers and support and also introduce the newly-elected regional executives to them.
At the palace of the Nayiri, the NPP Chairman assured him that the misunderstandings in the party in the area would be resolved permanently.
The Nayiri Naa Bohigu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga thanked the newly-elected regional executives for the visit and pledged to readily offer advice to the party anytime.
The Regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya-Naa, Yakubu Abdulai Andani advised the regional chairman and his executives to embrace peace, indicating that without peace, no development can take place in the party and the country as a whole.
He appealed to Mr Samba to help offer job opportunities to the youth in the region.
The Kampakuya-Naa also tasked to the party to promote gender equality to build the party and Mother Ghana, adding that there are a few female executives in the party.
Chairman Samba donated four air conditioners to the Yagbonwura at his palace.
The Yagbonwura thanked the regional chairman for the gifts and blessed him.
He assured the NPP that he would offer advice to the NPP anytime.
“Most of the youth in the area are jobless and it would be my greatest joy if the party creates some jobs for the youth,” Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa I added.
Regent of the Abudu Royal Family Boling-Lana Mahamadu Abdulai advised the NPP in the region to work hard to improve the lives of the people in the area.
Mr Samba was accompanied by Hajia Rahana Aziz, Women's Organizer, Mohammed Alhassan Ghana, Youth Organizer, Alhaji Alhassan Sibidow, Treasurer, Haruna Iddrisu, Assistant Secretary, Lawyer Sule Sambian, Secretary, Shamuna Ilyasu, Nasara Coordinator, Alhaji Sunday, First Vice Chairman, Felicia Tetteh, Second Vice and Rashid Salifu, Regional Organizer.
