Students of Kintampo College of Health demand refund of their monies

07.05.2018 LISTEN

Laboratory students of the College of Health at Kintampo in the Brong Ahafo Region have given the school’s authorities a 72-hour ultimatum to refund monies collected from them in relations to their practicals, which according to them never came off.

The Lab students allege that each of them was made to pay Gh.c 1,000.00 for the supposed practicals but to their dismay the purpose for which the monies were collected was yet to materialize.

They are therefore demanding a refund of their money within 72 hours otherwise they would advise themselves.

The students have petitioned the Acting Principal of the College in which they have suggested a payment formula to the authorities.

According to the petition sighted by our Brong Ahafo Regional Correspondent, full payments are to be made to all first-year laboratory students while their colleagues in the second year are to be given at least Gh.c 900.00 of the amount immediately.

“A refund of Gh.c1,000.00 be given to all first-year lab students since their courses do not contain any practical session. A partial payment of Gh.c 900.00 to be paid to all second and third years, since little or no practicals have been done”, the petition jointly signed by Matthew Ninwienaane and Babara Aggrey, leaders of the students said in part.

“We wish to state that your failure to adhere to this will compel us to use more radical means for securing our monies”, the petition concluded.

Meanwhile, management of the school was said to have been in a crunch meeting at the time of filing this report to find solutions to the issues raised by the students. Efforts to reach the Acting Principal or the Registrar of the College also proved unsuccessful.
