The Police at Yeji in the Pru East District of Brong-Ahafo Region is searching for a 20-year old unemployed, Kwaku Yaow for murdering a 21-year old man at Agege, near Yeji.

Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong, the Regional Police Public Relations Officer told the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday in Sunyani.

He said at about 2300 hours on Saturday, April 21, 2018, two persons Kwaku Ampem Prosper, aged 20 and one Kwaku Comey rushed to the Yeji Police Station with a dead body and reported to the Police that Yaow had killed Kwabena Lapawu with an iron bar in a fight.

Chief Inspector Oppong said at 1800 hours, suspect Yaow had a quarrel with deceased, Lapawu at the Agege village.

He said the disagreement resulted to a fight, saying in the process the suspect hit the deceased with an iron bar who fell unconsciously but they could not revive him.

Chief Inspector Oppong said Police inspected the body of the deceased and found no marks of assault on him.

He said the Police quickly conveyed the deceased to the Saint Mathias Catholic Hospital at Yeji, where he was pronounced dead and the body was deposited at the Hospital's mortuary, pending autopsy, he added.

Chief Inspector Oppong said the Police are making efforts to arrest Yaow to assist in investigations.
