Omanhene Advocates For Richard Panford As DCE For Gomoa East District

Obirifo Ahunako Ahor Ankobea II, Omanhene of the Gomoa Akyempim Traditional Area in the Central Region in consultation with his judicial council has recommended Mr. Richard Panford to the Presidency to nominate him as DCE for newly created Gomoa East District Assembly.

A recommendation letter signed by the Omanhene and copied to His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, Minister for Local Government and Rural Development and the Central Regional Minister among others stated that Mr. Richard Panford deserves to be the DCE due to his commitment and dedication to the NPP and Nananom in the area.

The Omanhene noted that the Traditional Council held a meeting on Saturday March 24, 2018 to arrive at the decision.

The statement read, "Following our meeting held on March 24, 2018 at my palace in Gomoa Assin with representatives from Gomoa Potsin and Gomoa Dominase in attendance couple with Members of Parliament for Gomoa East and West respectively, we came to conclusion to recommend Mr. Richard Panford, a native of Gomoa Dominase to be nominated as DCE for newly created Gomoa East District Assembly.

This recommendation has come about following series of consultations between my humble Royal self and the two communities, that's Gomoa Potsin and Gomoa Dominase.

It came to light that to let peace prevail and to have a conducive atmosphere for the development of the District, I Obirifo Ahunako Ahor Ankobea II, Omanhene of the Gomoa Akyenpim Traditional Area and my standing Commitee members hereby endorse and recommend Mr. Richard Panford to be nominated as DCE for Gomoa East District Assembly.

The said Mr. Richard Panford is a strong and committed member of the New Patriotic Party and even contested in 2015 NPP parliamentary primaries but lost to the current Member of Parliament for Gomoa East, Hon. Kojo Asemanyi".

The statement concluded " We express the hope that our request would be given a fair hearing to calm down the nerves and agitations currently going on within some circles in the District "

This recommendation from the Omanhene and his elders has received applaud from the people in the newly created Gomoa East District Assembly with its capital at Gomoa Potsin.
