Lets Work Together In Strengthening The Party To Capture More Seats In Western Region

With me and my colleagues contested the Regional chairmanship position a few days ago.The Regional delegates conference which gave birth to the just ended election has been one of the peaceful democratic processes as enshrined in the Dankwa Buzia Dombo Tradition's constitution.

Delegates indeed spoke through the ballot and as a candidate who couldn't make it, I am happy we have all accepted the choices or decision of delegates who are also party executives in the various constituencies in the Region.

I want to use this medium to call on the elected executives and all those who couldn't make it subscribe to the very things that unite us in order to strengthen the party in the region.

In every democratic process, one will definitely emerge as a winner at the end of the day.

This doesn't mean that any good thing that will be beneficial to the party shoudn't come from those who couldn't get the mandate of the people. Internal politics is different from external politics. One thing we must take cognizance of is that, after party election, there is the need in coming together to build a strong party capable of wrestling with any other opposition.

There is an adage that says" two wise heads are better than one" and it is this principle that the judiciary sometimes adopts in adjudicating sensitive landmark cases. The chief justice is by law allowed to empanel judges to sit on landmark cases. Three or seven judges may be empanelled to sit on such cases so that, both can combine their knowledge of the law in order to come out with a ruling that will serve as precedence for future judges to adopt or apply in the dispensation of justice which emanates from the people as stated in article 125(1) of the 1992 constitution of the Republic of Ghana.

We are done with elections,what is needed now is to bring all hands on board to work in the best interest of the party so that, we can retain seats captured from the NDC during the 2016 election as well as the " capturing of more additional seats to the already captured seats in the region." Ashanti Region is a strong pillar of the NPP because of seats. The benefits attached to being seen as an eye of the party are numerous.

One common example is, any time the party wants a favour from this government, the government will quickly respond to such demands. By so doing, you are extending privileges and opportunities into the region where grassroots will also be beneficiaries. To be seen as an eye of the government comes with a herculean task and we must devote all commitment in unity and solidarity to make this a "dream comes true" that will inure to the benefits of the grassroots.

We already have sixteen(16) seats as we speak now.We were able to capture few seats, in addition, to already seats we had before the election. Two seats for the NDC since time immemorial were Sefwi Wiawso and Sefwi Akontombra seat respectively. NDC won those seats from the 90s till we captured it in the 2016 election.

Available records which are known publicly shows that, if we had put in the small effort during the 2016 election, we would have won Sefwi Juaboso and Bodi seats which is currently in the "shrinking hands" of the NDC. This is not to underscore the fact that we didn't do our best during the 2016 election, rather this is to motivate us to put in our maximum best so that, those seats will be a target in the upcoming elections. We did well by taking those two Mugabe seats from the NDC during the 2016 election.

Let's come together and build a more united party in the region by bringing "all hands on the desk" to serve the party in harmony for the region to be accorded same privileges accorded to other regions in this country. If central region which was previously dominated by the NDC has been able to give us 21 seats as we speak, why can't western region also equalise or set a record above theirs so that, in the near future, our records will also be a case study for other regions who also wants to be seen as an eye of the New Patriotic Party.

We can do it and do it more by pulling strings.Let us allow the things that unite us override the things that disunite us. I will like to sign off in all humility at this moment.Let us not kill the alacrity to serve the party. We need a strong party in the region and I know that the current elected executives will uphold this call.
