Vice President Dr Mahamadu Bawumia yesterday led a government delegation to the one-week celebration of Opanin Samuel Antwi Boasiako, father of Kumasi Mayor, Osei Assibey Antwi.
Opanin Boasiako died after short illness at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi aged 94.
The vice president and his entourage were given a rousing welcome at Ahenkro-Kwamang by the mourners.
Dr Bawumia consoled Osei Assibey Antwi and entreated him to take heart in these trying moments.
Rev Ebenezer Opambuor Adarkwa Yiadom, aka 'Prophet One’, leader of the Ebenezer Miracle Worship Center, was also at the venue.
Accompanied by Eugene Morratt, a movie producer, Prophet One, also consoled the bereaved family, especially Osei Assibey Antwi.
Representatives from the various political parties such as NDC, CPP and the others, were also there to support the Kumasi Mayor.
