The Great Grace Word Chapel International (GGWCI) has donated assorted items worth GH¢1,000.00 to parents having children with cerebral palsy to support their daily upkeep.

The items, which included bags of rice and sugar, gallons of vegetable oil, detergents and toiletries, were donated through the Givers Never Lack Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation that advocates the welfare of children with cerebral palsy.

Pastor Joseph Kusi Bonney, the General Overseer of GGWCI, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview, that it was the responsibility of every believer to help the poor and needy in society, adding that parents and families with cerebral palsy children faced numerous challenges.

He said the donation, which was a social responsibility of the church, formed part of activities marking its fifth anniversary.

'It is our heart's desire to support those in need as we celebrate our fifth anniversary', he said.

Pastor Bonney mentioned quiz competition, praises, worship and revival as other activities lined up for the anniversary and encouraged other individuals and bodies to support deprived and neglected people, especially children with cerebral palsy, adding, 'Such Godly duties shouldn't be ignored.'

Mr Edward Amankwah, the Founder of Givers Never Lack Foundation who received the items on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to the Church for its constant humanitarian support to the Foundation and urged other institutions to emulate the Church to put smiles on the faces of the children and their parents.

'It is not easy staying with children suffering from this illness. One needs the strength of God in order not to give up', he said.
