The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has presented four air-conditioners and a Cash safe to the Ministries Police District Office to enhance their work.

The items were procured for the District Office, following a request from the Ministries Police.

Mr Fred Charles Anson, the Commissioner, Support Services Division GRA, said the presentation was a top most priority to the GRA because of the importance it attached to the Police Service, an institution that put the lives of their employees on the line day in and out to ensure that others could freely move about.

He said the safety of the citizens was key 'because we believe that living in a secure environment will promote economic activities and increase productivity as it is our right to have a safe environment.

'Indeed, we are all aware of how the Police are doing their best to provide us, as citizens with the security we need,' Mr Anson said.

He said he was glad that GRA had fulfilled the request to contribute towards a conducive environment for the service to perform their tasks.

'We believe providing a safe environment is a shared responsibility between the citizenry and the government. We greatly appreciate the work of the police in our country,' Mr Anson said.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Mrs Florence Owusu, Ministries Police District Commander, expressed gratitude to the management of the GRA for the equipment and said it would go a long way to improve service delivery and operations.

She said policing was a shared responsibility and said the items would go a long way to support the reforms being undertaken by the Inspector General of Police to improve standards of the service.
