Has the Attorney General Gone to Prostrate to Asantehene Beseeching Him for Blessings?
25.04.2018 LISTEN

I could not believe my ears when I heard that the Attorney General, Ms Glory Akuffo, has recently been to the Manhyia Palace, knelt before Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and pleaded for his blessings. If what I have heard is anything to go by, but not an untruth, then I will say, wonders will never cease.

Human beings are unbelievable! You cannot trust human beings. Human beings can be very unpredictable!

I am not here to be judgmental but in all honesty, I find it extremely preposterous the way the top NPP leaders or gurus are cosying up to Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, a person who never wanted them ever to come to power but his NDC and “yen ntie obiaa” buddy, former President John Dramani Mahama.

I do not begrudge them for making up with him; forgiving him his sins against them but how they are kowtowing to him and being at his beck and call is what really baffles me. If today, it is not the President, the Vice President or the Chief Justice visiting him, then it will be the Attorney General. Are they not making those of us who took him on and went the extra miles to negate his evil machinations and that of the NDC to bring NPP to power look like nutters in the end?

Is Ghana a partial democracy hence the prominence the NPP government are giving to the supposedly Asante Overlord who is indeed a Ceremonial Head of the Ashantis since the restoration of the Asante Confederacy, now Asanteman Council, since 1935? Do the NPP leaders visit the other chiefs in the other regions much as they visit the Asantehene, and if the answer is a BIG NO, can they explain why?

The fact that the Ashanti region is supposedly the electoral world bank of the NPP to earn them more electoral votes and seats during elections does not necessitate the undue prominence and elevation they are giving to Asantehene, a very well-known member of NDC and a hater of NPP, especially, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. It makes me scratch my head in wonder, seeking answers to why this behaviour by the leaders of NPP.

Yes, Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, gives them good advice. However, deep down his heart, he is a different person. He preaches virtues but practises vices. As we are in a democracy and have the right to worship and join any association or pander to whoever one likes, I cannot stop the leaders from choosing to visit whoever they like, but they are to be mindful of not letting him influence them to satisfy his selfish ends.

To His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the Chief Justice Ms. Sophia Akuffo and the Attorney General Ms Gloria Akuffo, be it be known to you that Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has gone over and above his traditional powers in what amounts to crime, to meddle in the ongoing Kumawu chieftaincy dispute. The cases are pending before the courts in the Ashanti region. I hope you will not allow him to influence you to twist justice in his favour. The evidence and the facts are already a public knowledge and I have personally taken the initiative to escalate the case to the Petitions Team of the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (United Nations Office at Geneva and the Amnesty International on [email protected] [email protected] respectively.

As long as I have resolutely determined to assist in the fight against corruption in all its forms and shape, with charity beginning at home, I shall not rest on my oars and bury my head in the sand like an ostrich while Asantehene unconstitutionally and unconventionally abuses his powers to re-write the history of Kumawu, my paternal place of birth to suit his criminal intents.

Not only that, I made a supplication to God through the asking of questions as advised in the scriptures by prophet Habakkuk to show me the way forward to stopping the NPP Ministers that had come to give support to Asantehene to criminally avail himself of Kumawuman lands and wealth and to arrogate to himself traditional powers over Kumawu of which he has absolutely no prerogative. A voice or an intuition that I presume to be that of God or a Supreme Being, revealed to me on Wednesday, 31 January 2018, in a dream a few minutes later, the measure to take which has the potential to cause political tsunami in Ghana should the NPP continue to needlessly meddle in the Kumawu chieftaincy case in favour of Asantehene. That revelation has since been documented and passed on to someone to avoid the resultant mayhem it will create should it become public knowledge.

As to obey is better than sacrifice, I shall listen to the voice of God than to appease man for all bad reasons. However, the first step in the right direction has been taken. Asantehene has colluded with Kumawuhemaa Nana Abenaa Serwaah Amponsah and other Asanteman chiefs to illegally lease some Kumawuman stool lands to some Norwegian company of which Asantehene is a major shareholder hence his determination to impose Dr Yaw Sarfo on Kumawu as their paramount chief against the wish of the people and the standing Kumawu traditions and customs for nominating, selecting and electing a Kumawu chief-elect.

I hope the President, the Chief Justice and the Attorney General will not try to support him by influencing judges and using their powers to obstruct justice in the ongoing Kumawu chieftaincy case in Asantehene’s favour. They can lie on the ground for him to walk over them but to use their powers to twist justice in his favour whereas we voted for a change of government to usher in a government we expect to respect human rights, guarantee the rule of law and the prevalence of justice for all regardless of one’s status in the Ghanaian society, I shall not sit on the fence without opposing it.

Why should they not seek blessings from God in whom they entrusted the battle to wrestle power from the NDC but Asantehene? Why has Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II the right to summon all the court judges to his Manhyia Palace for a meeting periodically? Do the other regional Chiefs have the same right? When he calls them, what does he discuss with them?

Anyway, the Kumawu chieftaincy case is being led by God who is in absolute control of it hence He will not hesitate to deal with whosoever tries to twist the truth. Anyone can verify from the above cited international organisations if I have not communicated the case to them. They are monitoring it from afar so our Chief Justice and the Attorney General are to be mindful of not tarnishing the reputation of Ghana through interfering in the case to prevent justice from prevailing. Apart from the crimes so committed, they should find out about whether or not Asantehene has any traditional right to interfere in Kumawu chieftaincy affairs in the way Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is doing. They can seek advice from some honest Asante chiefs or read the history of the Ashantis to understand the position of Kumawu in the Asanteman vis-à-vis that of Asantehene.

May those approaching Asantehene beware of his trickeries by reading the contents of my publications on Modernghana published on 7 March 2018 under their Feature Articles column headlined, “Serving Notice of My Intention to Organise Peaceful Protests With Regard To the Kumawu Chieftaincy Dispute” and under the web link:

and another one published on 1 January 2015 titled, “Kumawuhene” Sends a Manipulative Letter to Police Commander Kofi Boakye - Read it” and under the web link:

A word to the wise is sufficient. We are all gearing up to ensure that justice prevails for all irrespective of their higher or lower status in Ghana. The President should not deviate from his quality of incorruptibility, fairness and absolute respect for human rights in order not to incur the wrath of God. He can visit Asantehene as many times as he likes but he should not allow himself or the Attorney General and the Chief Justice to be influenced by him to do what will not be right in the sight of God.

The fearless son of Kumawu/Asiampa has spoken his mind and will stand for the prevalence of justice whether it rains or shines. If I should become an enemy of whoever by telling the truth, I am sorry to say, I don’t care. The truth should always prevail and as said by the late Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia, “Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph”.

In order to prevent the evil from triumphing, I shall speak up! I shall conclude with a quotation from Mark Twain who said, “"In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his course succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot"

Whoever receives this publication must please share it on other social media and escalate it to the hearing of the President, the Chief Justice, and the Attorney General, Asantehene and all the chiefs and queens in Ghana.

The battle to fight corruption goes on unabated. Some Ashantis have started a social media agitations against the incompetence and criminal conducts by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. They have had enough of his shenanigans.
