An Accra Circuit Court has remanded, Abraham Nartey, 22-year-old manager of the Alinco Oil Ghana Limited, into police custody to assist in investigations for allegedly forging official documents to defraud his company of GH¢13,000.00.

Nartey has however denied the charge of forgery and will re-appear on Friday, April 27.

Police Chief Inspector Patrick Hanson told the court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Essandoh that Nartey is the manager of the company's branch at Dapaah Junction, Kadjebi near Hohoe in the Volta Region.

The prosecution witness, Alhaji Ibrahim Nyamese, is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Company.

Chief Inspector Hanson said, on December 27, 2017, Nartey went to the CEO at Ashaiman to demand for products to sell.

Prosecution said Alhaji Ibrahim became suspicious and asked him to render accounts of the previous sales.

The prosecution said the accused produced three forged Ghana Commercial Bank's (GCB) cash deposit forms of December 27, 2017, January 19 and January 20, this year.

The figures on the slips read GH¢23,068.00 instead of GH¢24,168.00; GH¢19,261.00 instead of GH¢24,261.00; and GH¢52,786.00 instead of GH¢59,786.00.

Alhaji Ibrahim subsequently made a complaint with the police and Nartey was arrested.
