Nuggets Of Realities After National Service

The national service programme is a compulsory one-year service required of all Ghanaian graduates who complete approved tertiary courses.

It is factual another set of graduates are about completing their mandatory service to the nation and probably are being agitated by asking themselves "what next?" because there is no mandatory posting to a place of work, unlike our colleagues from colleges of education and nursing training colleges.

It is the hope of every graduate to actualize his/her aspirations after going through an intense process of tuition.

According to a research conducted by the Institute of Statistical, Social, and Economic Research (ISSER), only 10% of the country's graduates find jobs after their first year of completing school.

Most of us thought talks on graduate unemployment was a myth until we finished service, started job hunting and marvelled at the gigantic number of shortlisted applicants for an aptitude test/interview.

At times you will meet the same people you met on your last interview. This is where you will ask, "Eiiii chaley you come here too".

These are prescience of some experiences hence, don't be quick to give up on yourself or your dreams.

Motivational stories of people like C.E.O. of Despite Group of Companies, popularly called Kwame Despite, founder of Alibaba Group in China, Jack Ma and many others who suffered temporary set backs but never misconstrued as end to their lives should encourage us.

It is a fact that:
Some graduates will go for an interview and form long queue.

Some graduates might have written several applications but no result just like Jack Ma applied for over 30 jobs but no result.

Some graduates might be appointed before others even though you graduated the same year.

Some graduates may have started their own business but it seem challenging. "In life, it's not how much we achieved, it's how much we've gone through the tough days and mistakes," Jack Ma

It is imperative to note that, success is a journey hence, delay is never a denial.

#Say no to suicide.
