If there is a problem that has caused so much public attention in Mim,then it is the rampant unemployment problem. As it is said, employment is one of the premises of progress in every society.

It can therefore be said without a shadow of doubt that a society where there is the existence of this social canker automatically lacks development.

My duty as a citizen therefore compels me to take a sheet of paper from my only one exercise book which was bought for me on credit with my short pen with its ink about to finish to write this piece.

Mim is a rural area that can be located in the Asunafo North of Brong Ahafo Region. In some years back, there were a lot of companies within which the people of Mim depended solely on.Just to mention a few are Ayum Forest Product(which dealt with timber) and Agro(which also dealt with cashew). No wonder people could easily locate Mim with cashew and timber.

But as if our ancestors did something wrong, the people of Mim have been suffering from unemployment since 2014.People have promised to help us solve this problem but nothing has been done.I would have said they said that to canvass votes but it is not time for election.

Oh my God!But where did we go wrong? The rate at which unemployment has taken place in Mim is extremely worrisome and escalating to a point where a prophet cannot prophesy,a seer cannot predict neither a soothsayer could foresee.

' Education is the most powerful weapon that can be used to change the world,'said Nelson Mandela.'Education is the premise of progress in every society,'said Kofi Annan. These words of these great people can indeed tell you that education is very essential and crucial.

When I see the young students in Mim,tears start to trickle through my cheeks. The faded and torn but neat uniform will tell you a lot.Unemployment has made parents in Mim unable to cater for the needs of their wards in school.

What makes me sad are those in the private schools. They pay canteen, bus fee, classes and many others. This means the child supposes to go to school with at least 3cedis.But how can the unemployed parents provide this?Very pathetic, isn't it?Unemployment has indeed shattered the lives of the people of Mim.

Now,'okada' is one of the main occupations in Mim.A child whose parents cannot cater for them has no option than to fend for themselves. Some end up on the street becoming rapists, armed robbers, smokers and many others.

The sensible ones enough try to involve themselves in this 'okada' business. This child will use only a week to learn how to ride a motorbike and start to be an 'okada man' with no good qualification. No licence, nothing. They will therefore be causing accident on the street.

It was very sad when a fatal motor accident occurred in Mim some days ago.The victim was a young student who had told his parents that he was going to school. The parents only received call that their child had died as a result of motor accident.Reckless riding!Motor accident is very common in Mim.It never mitigates but rather escalates.

Mr president, diligent ministers and governmental officials,in case you come across this piece, the people of

Mim are pleading with you.We really need your help.Mim is in dire need of urgent help. Our schools, roads and facilities are all in dire need of urgent help.We are also Ghanaians and need your attention.Let us be fair
