A 40 year businessman, has been installed as the chief of Sefwi-Awaso, pledging to make education development his topmost priority.

Katakyie Kwame Amponsah II said he would go the extra mile to ensure that every child received education in the sprawling bauxite-mining town.

He succeeds his uncle, Nana Kofi Gyam III, who died recently and reigned for 44 years.

The new chief, know in private life as Mr. Kwame Debra, encouraged parents to put premium on child's education and said it was the best thing they could do for them.

They should cut down on frivolous spending - funerals and wedding parties, to save money to take care of their basic school needs.

That was the way to go to enable them to have their fair share of the existing opportunities in the society.

Katakyie Amponsah called for unity among the people and said no meaningful progress could be made when they were disunited.

'We must accept to pull together to make things happen - transform and our living conditions better', he added
