The Asante-Akim South Municipal Police Command has arrested a 61 year old farmer, Yaw Dankwah over the murder of a 13 year old girl at Yawkwei near Juaso.
Deborah Bermaah was on Tuesday found dead in a farm near his father's cottage with a deep cut on her throat.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Andrew Anyani, the Municipal Police Commander who confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said the police received a distress call from one Anthony Obeng, father of the deceased that his daughter had been murdered.
He said the police proceeded to the scene where they found the lifeless and naked body of the girl with a deep cut on her throat.
The commander said a close observation of the body suggests that she was defiled by the perpetrator before killing her.
He said a pair of jeans trouser and a torn underwear were found about 20 meters away from the body.
