An appeal has been to the Ministry of Education and the Government to come to the aid of the Nkontomire Basic School in the Atwima Nwabiagya District.

Ms. Abigail Dwomoh Nyarko, President of the Biggles Impact Foundation (BIF), a Kumasi-based NGO interested in the promotion of education in rural communities, said the current condition of the classroom blocks of the School was not only a threat to the lives of the pupils and teachers, but also hindered quality education delivery in the community.

Ms. Nyarko made the appeal after presenting teaching and learning materials worth GH¢4,500.00 to the School at a ceremony at Nkontomire.

The items were to aid effective teaching and learning to improve quality of education in the School.

Ms. Nyarko said the current classroom blocks which were built by an NGO were in such a deplorable condition that, the authorities had to close the School whenever there was a rainfall.

She said the provision of the aid was to ensure effective teaching and learning to help improve educational outcomes in the community.

Ms. Nyarko said the aim of the organization was to ensure easy access to education and the promotion of quality basic education in rural and deprived communities in the country.

She said children in the community would not be able to experience quality education without proper infrastructure and quality teaching and learning materials.

Ms. Nyarko said education was the only way to improve the quality of life of the people and reduce poverty in rural communities.

'Education is not for the privileged few but for all. It is a fundamental human right which has to be treated with priority,' she added.

She further advised parents and guardians not to make excuses but rather, make every effort they could, to see to it that their children were educated.

The Assistant Headmaster of the School, Mr. Isaac Okyere Hagan, thanked the organization for the support and said it would go a long way to improve education delivery in the School.
