At least three former government officials have been cautioned with a charge of stealing and are to reappear before the Police Criminal Investigations, on May 14.

The three, Inusah Fuseini, former Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Comfort Doyoe Ghansah, former Minister of State in charge of Social and Allied Institutions and Eric Opoku former Brong Ahafo Region Minister, were interrogated by the officials of the police CID Tuesday.

They have been accused of taking double salaries as Ministers and Members of Parliament while serving in government under ex-president John Mahama.

They have all denied an allegation.
On Tuesday, the three, on the invitation, reported to the Police CID to assist in investigations in the company of their lawyers.

The three are part of many others, including the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu, who have similar accusations of taking double salaries hanging around their necks but are yet to meet the CID.

Joy News’ Joseph Ackah Blay said the suspects have been supplying some information to the Police Financial Forensic Unit to assist in investigation.

Lawyers of the suspects have dismissed the allegations of stealing against their clients.

Ackah Blay said the Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu, met with his three colleagues for 30 minutes before they went to meet the Police CID on Tuesday.

He told some journalists based on the treatment meted out to his colleagues by the CID, they will take their next line action.

The three suspects were said to be in high spirits shortly after meeting the CID.

Meanwhile, other suspects are also expected to see the Police CID in the coming days with the same caution.
