Coalition Against Galamsey Unveils Drama

The Media Coalition against Galamsey has launched a drama to support the fight against illegal mining otherwise known as 'Galamsey'.

The drama titled, 'Saints and Sinners,' would tell the ills and effects of the practice, which is becoming a menace in the society.

Sponsored by STAR-Ghana, the Globe Production Theatre Group would perform the drama, which would feature famous actors.

Mr Kenneth Ashigbey, the Convenor of the Coalition, who launched the drama said, the fight against illegal mining, had not been won yet after using town hall meetings, among other strategies.

'Galamsey is destroying not only Ghana's water bodies but the environment and even individuals and using drama is a diversified way to mobilise communities to join the fight in eliminating the canker.'

He said there would be free live performances by the crew in Obuasi, Tarkwa and Kyebi, in the Ashanti, Western and Eastern regions, in that order, between March 23 and May.

Mr Ashigbey called on all stakeholders to come on board to help fight the common enemy.
