Peace Corp couple honoured for their services

Okagyakrom (V/R), Aug. 17, GNA - American Peace Corp volunteer couple have been honoured with stool titles by the chiefs and people of Okagyakrom in the Jasikan district of the Volta Region for serving at the Okagyakrom Secondary/Technical School.

Mr and Mrs Mojdeh Vahid, who served two years at the school, were named Nkosuahene and Nkosuahemaa (Development Chiefs) of the town. During the period, the two mobilized 26.5 million cedis for some infrastructure improvement works in the school.

Nana Okagya Ntim, Ankobeahene of Okagyakrom, who conferred the titles on them at a send-off party organized by the community, praised them for their resilience, which had helped the fortunes of the school. Mr Ernest Asiamah, Headmaster presented the couple with a miniature stool and a parcel each, remarking that their work had raised the image of the school.

He announced that a Miss Victoria Ekudzi scored aggregate 14 with grade 'A' in Core Mathematics in the 2004 Senior Secondary School Examination (SSSCE) and gained admission to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to do a B.Sc in Agriculture.
