AN OPEN LETTER TO THE MINISTER OF DEFENSE
Dear Nitiwul, Dominic,
I hope I got your name right? I know you are a busy man so let me spare you of the pleasantries.

Sir, I heard you said the agreement between Ghana and the US to have a military base in Ghana was signed in 1998 and that it was Hannah Tetteh who sold Ghana and not your government?

Mr. Minister care to learn that Hannah Tetteh was not the Foreign Minister in 1998?

Sir did I also heard right that you said the deal was renegotiated? Please is it before or after the negotiations that you reached the 20 million US Dollars as what exactly? Sir are you aware Seychelles Island refused $550 million from India to establish a military base to monitor/protect their vessels on the Indian Ocean? If you don't know this basic truths then Sir, I am tempted to say you are either clueless of your position, incompetent or both. If the deal is so good for Ghana and her citizens why shifting blames sir?

Again, Sir when finally the US establishes its Military base here in Ghana and consequently granted unfettered access to all that is contained therein in the agreement, who will command the troops? I mean who will be the Chief of Defence Staff? A Ghanian or an American?

Sir kindly pardon my ignorance but can we have two military commands in one sovereign State?

Sir just before I sign off, I crave your endulgence to answer my last question. Who will be the Commander in Chief of the American Army in Ghana?

Waiting in earnest hope to hear from you soon.
Yours citizen not a spectator,
Don't worry about my name you may call me the son of a common man with common sense.
