52 Districts Exhibit At 22nd International Trade Fair

A total of 52 out of the 254 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies are participating in the on-going 22nd Ghana International Trade Fair and Exhibition in Accra, Mr Frankin Andrews, Public Relations Officer, Trade Fair Company has said.

He said authorities had put in place a monitoring system that would access the positives and negatives in other to increase the numbers next year.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview, Mr Andrews explained that the participation and patronage has been good adding that 'this is a good start taking into consideration the fact that the fair has not been organised in Accra for the past two years'.

This year's event, which will end on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, is on the theme, 'Industralising Ghana, creating Jobs' as part of measures by government to inculcate the spirit of industralisation in the youth.

He said the fair sought to 'enhance the economic potentials, create sustenance, create produce for export, check rural urban migration and create jobs in each district'.

Over the period, Mr Andrews said activities that were held included Beer and Music feast, country celebration day with Embassies as well as Chief executive's cook out.

He hinted that dignitaries, including Ministers, Ambassadors of countries including Nigeria, Morocco, Togo participated in the event.

A section of the exhibitors the GNA spoke with said the level of patronage was good but urged authorities to focus on publicity next year to increase the patronage.

They recommended that authorities should organise side events purposely for children, top officials and the middle class.

Mr Abu Mme, an exhibitor expressed satisfaction at the level of sales and indicated that he had made business contacts.
