Statement By NUGS On The Occasion Of Ghana's 61st Independence Day Celebration
06.03.2018 LISTEN

All praise and glory to God for another milestone occasion in the life of our country, Ghana.

Today presents an opportunity to take a deep reflection on our journey so far as a country and the strides we have made collectively admist the prevailing challenges.

Our story as a country inspires confidence in the citizenry and provokes every citizen to do more for our country.

Though we acknowledge the myriad of problems that confront the Ghanaian youth and citizenry at large, we have a strong conviction of a better future with commitment and hard work towards Ghana's development.

We have a collective responsibility as citizens in building a better country for all.

A country which provides equal opportunities to every child to develop their potentials.

The union takes cognizance of the commitment of the President of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo in building a nation beyond aid and pledge our total commitment and support towards this noble course.

We are more confident about the future of Ghana as NUGS, by the President's strong willed message and efforts towards making education affordable for all through the Free SHS program which provides the means to education for the Ghanaian Child.

We once again look up to a national consultative forum to generate ideas in sustaining and making the program more formidable.

We also call for more interventions and investments into the country's educational sector since education holds the key to unlocking the country's potentials to greatness.

Our stance and commitment as students and youth in making Ghana a better place remains resolved and unabated.

The National Union of Ghana students salutes all Ghanaians on the occasion of the country's 61st independence day celebration.

It is our prayer that this occasion provides the avenue in translating our aspirations into practicable means towards our collective progress.

God bless our homeland Ghana.
We say ayekoo to all Ghanaians!!!
Aluta Continua!!!
