NPP 419 Promise Of Zongo Development Fund And Northern Region Development Authhority

Dr Bawumia’s Northern Development Authority and Zongo Development Fund lies have been exposed. It is evidently clear that the Vice-President is just another Northern, Zongo person used for elections, dumped after victory just like they did to late Veep Aliu Mahama.

The three Northern Regions and Zongos gave their all in the 2016 elections with the promise of an urgent need for a Zongo Development Fund and Northern Development Authority. What do we see today after a year three months in office. Nothing to show or write home about. It has being at best a lip service project with no teeth. Sadly enough even the budgetary allocation to the Zongo Ministry is abysmally poor and woefully inadequate, even at that their funds are being stifled.

The only thing the Zongo Ministry can boast of is just a room in an old over beaten christianborg castle which accommodates all the staff of the ministry i.e ( Chief Director, Finance and Administration et al) whilst all other new ministries like Aviation, Railways etc all housed in decent ultra modern accommodation. This once again goes to show how disrespectful the NPP administration metes out to the people of Zongo and Northern Ghana.

Northerners and Zongos deserve better in this government. The Zongo communities and Northern Regions gave the President an unprecedented and overwhelming endorsement of a 25% increase of overall votes share that got him into office. For us to be treated as second class Ghanaians and our needs treated casually with only lip service promises is nothing but an insult to us

One year of a 419 sweet talking promise of the NPP to alleviate the plight of the Zongos and Northern Ghana is nothing but a scam which has and will not see the light of day.

The Akufo Addo administration with their disdain for Northerners and Zongos is appalling. Northerners and people of Zongo are only seen as useful during elections. The welfare of the Zongos are not a priority of the Akufo Addo administration and he simply does not care.

We demand urgency in the Zongo Ministry, Zongo Development Fund and Northern Development Authority just as the President is done with other initiatives like the Special Prosecutor which were all passed on the same day by the Parliament of Ghana whilst the President conveniently accented to the Special Prosecutor Bill deliberately neglecting the ZDF and NDA.

We call on the Vice President to be proactive and show concern to Northern and Zongo affairs like he did when he went round soliciting their votes during the campaign season instead of scamming and blackmailing them with the phrase “ VOTE FOR ME I AM ONE OF YOU”.
