Journalists Against Abuse condemns political interference in the police administration

Group calling itself Journalists Against Abuse has heavily descended on the political parties in the country for interfering the work of the police service.

They alleged that the inability of the police to deal effectively with crime in the country is down to political interference which has resulted to the soaring robberies in the country recently.

A statement signed and issued by the Executive Director of Journalist Against Abuse, Aboagye Frank Jackson and copied to thepressradio.com said ‘’is heartbroken to hear some Ghanaians putting a political tone on this canker instead of finding a lasting solution to it”.

According to them,there are good men and women in the police service but out of fear or victimization by the political class, they are unable to deal with crime.

“Performing Police Officers get changed because of politics and not priority nor competence. Insecurity affects every facets of the economy which in no doubt propels development”. The statement added.

Journalists Against Abuse believes that Ghanaians are unsafe following the recent robberies in the country. “It doesn't take one to be a Security Expert to talk about a security threat and that is what Journalists Against Abuse keeps brooding about”.

The above group is unhappy and exasperated about the recent robberies currently being witnessed in Ghana.

Why should Ghana be unsafe for its citizens whiles armed robbers imperiously take the law into their own hands?

Don't we have an Interior Ministry?
What about the National Security Ministers?
OK, how about the IGP?
Maybe, I have just woken up from my slumber and I can't define the work of the above portfolios.

Journalists Against Abuse believe that Ghanaians are unsafe following the recent robberies in the country. It doesn't take one to be a Security Expert to talk about a security threat and that is what Journalists Against Abuse keeps brooding about.

Ghana is not safe in the face of this continuous day and night robberies, a situation which has triggered an indignation by Ghanaians.

The killing of an expatriate is a wake up call that Ghana's security is porous with pinion.

Armed robbers are daringly taken over the streets of Ghana with impunity and all we say is a blame on the NPP as a government.

Does the NPP provide sophisticated guns to armed robbers?

Journalists Against Abuse is heartbroken to hear some Ghanaians putting a political tone on this albatross instead of engaging in a repelling mode. Performing Police Officers get changed because of politics and not priority nor competence. Insecurity affects every facets of the economy which in no doubt propels development.

Allowing this to remain unsolved is a recipe for disaster, cushion an interminable misdemeanor or better still, groping in the dark for a lost needle.

We believe that the time for action to this worrying burdened spectacle is now and not later. We want to see the assigned portfolios matching this canker tooth for tooth and to the tatters to stop these contemptuous acts.

Journalists Against Abuse wants to see Ghana Police in full armour for a vindictive mission for the necessary gratification. Anyone at all can own a gun at any time of the day, why won't the country be unsafe or we don't see it as a security forfeiture or failure?

Journalists Against Abuse believe that the recent robberies are the worst form of abuse to happen in Ghana and a melancholic repugnance.

Our protestation is simple and harmonious, we are urging concerned authorities to back up for a revert or face our reproach.
