I Did Not Show The Fake Penis To Police - Wisa
02.03.2018 LISTEN

Eugene Ashie aka Wisa, a hip life artiste, on Thursday told an Accra Circuit Court that he did not show his fake penis to the Police when he was invited by them.

Answering questions under cross-examination by Prosecution led by Chief Inspector Judith Asante, Wisa said he also did not tell the Police that he had 'something' apart from his penis.

He was answering questions in the case in which he has been accused displaying his manhood during a performance on December 25, 2015 dubbed 'Decemba to Rememba'.

Wisa disagreed with prosecution that the tendering of the fake penis by him was an afterthought and an attempt to throw dust into the court's eyes.

When asked to explain to the court what the fake penis was, Wisa said; 'This was the actual thing I used on the said night'.

Wisa said the perception he had before accepting to perform was to entertain the audience.

The Hip Life artiste said he could not provide evidence of him wearing the fake penis before getting on to the stage.

He admitted that his action of achieving his popularity constituted gross indecency.

Wisa further admitted that due to his actions on the day of the incident he composed an apology song.

'I did the apology song due to the perception people had about me and the song was also to apologise to one Jessica of Citi FM, an Accra Based radio station and the Music Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

Wisa of the 'Ekikimi' fame was arrested for allegedly exposing his penis while performing at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on December 24, 2015.

He has, however, denied a charge of gross indecent exposure and is on a ¢8,000.00 bail with one surety.

On December 25, 2015, the Accra Regional Police was alerted over a nude video posted on the Internet from an unknown source, in which Wisa intentionally exposed his penis, while performing live on stage.

According to the Prosecution Detective Inspector Judith B. Asante said the Police contacted the managers of Artiste to produce him at the Regional Police Headquarters for investigations, which they did.

The prosecution said investigations into the matter disclosed that on December 24, Airtel Communications Company and Citi FM, an Accra-based radio station, organised an event dubbed: 'Decemba 2 Rememba' which included the accused as a guest artiste.

In the course of the show, the accused, while dancing with a female dancer identified as Monica Kumadeh, suddenly removed his penis out of his pair of jeans and began to caress the buttocks of the dancer.

The matter has been adjourned to March 21 for Wisa to produce his witness in court.
