The Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC) has held its 4th matriculation ceremony for 58 students to pursue one-year intensive course on Master of Science in Defence and International Politics (MDIP).

The students are expected to be equipped with specialized knowledge and skills in the management of defence and security.

The Commandant of the GAFCSC, Rear Admiral Seth Amoama, said the college, established to train selected officers of the Ghana Armed Forces and other security services, also accepts qualified civilians as well as candidates from other countries for middle level policy, command staff and leadership function.

He said, “The college has always integrated relevant and trending academic courses into its students.”

Rear Admiral Amoama said the college previously collaborated with the University of Ghana through its Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD) and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) to deliver masters programme in international relations and governance and leadership respectively.

A former commandant of the college, Major General (Rtd) Carl Coleman, said the college is noted for excellence on the African continent and the world over since its past students are excelling in various fields of human endeavour.
