Death Prophecy Nor Any Other Prophecy Interests God More Than Preaching Repentance To The People

Foretelling tomorrow's event is what we Christians term as prophecy. Prophetic message comes to it's carrier, the human vessel, through; dream, vision, revelation, application of divine wisdom and by the greatest form thus the word of God.

Basically, prophetic word comes to God's people to create awareness in them. This is so in order to help people prepare and make safe provision for tomorrow's adverse conditions like drought, famine, storm, trouble and affliction. A prophetic word could be spoken yesterday or today for its expectancy today or tomorrow.

A true prophetic word when declared is like a live boat whose Captain is seemingly controlling the sail at a distant place from the boat with a remote device. Tidal waves and storms may blow the boat north and south but eventually one day, the boat will get to its destination at the shore to be anchored.

Therefore, prophecy can not be ruled out in a believer's journey with and to God. God Himself used and uses prophecies to scheme so many predestined events. The duplicating and recurring nature of dead prophecies, in our country, targeted at well known individuals may be pissing people off the prophetic pulpit. There are also accounts of prophetic word on death in the Bible too.

I must say the greatest aspect of the landmark prophecy in the Bible was a death prediction. Isaiah and other earlier prophets foretold the the birth and death of the unborn person Jesus. See Isaiah 7:14, 53:7. Not less than thirty different prophetic word led into the fulfilment of the birth and death of Jesus.

Truly, the prophecies about Jesus is the landmark record in the Bible. I think the real deal was not just to make known to humanity that God Himself is coming to live among men as Jesus. This was so for the people to hear repentance from Him and be saved by Him. I guess if not for repentance and salvation of the people, Jesus would not have descended down onto the earth. Hence there would not be any birth nor death prophecy.

Every prophetic word in the Bible has a direct connection to salvation of the people. This is the heart beat of God. For God to deliver His people Israel from the hands of Egypt, composed Moses was to be made. Prophetic word through wisdom taught mother of Moses to abandon baby Moses at the bank of the river, where Pharaoh's lovely daughter come daily to pleasure herself with swimming. This was God's way of placing Moses with and in the Pharaohs by adoption. Moses would eventually deliver the Israelites out of Egypt. Liberty and freedom were the products of the prophetic message on the life of Moses.

We must not be expectant of freedom, liberty and salvation in our prophecies if repentance of the person concerned is not what we seek to achieve.

When a person repents, he or she is being relieved of burden and load of sin and becomes free forever. Therefore, the centre or purpose of death prophecy even when said must aim at edification thus building up of one's soul. Why then are we not practising well by telling the person in private than to ridicule the person in public?

What then is our aim if we prophesy and speak death into lives without showing even little interest in their repentance? Repentance is the most powerful message a preacher can give to the people. It is like a sword with multi billion sharp edges.

Death prophecy is only a sub-declaration of 'caution of repentance'. In message of repentance, there is a prophetic word of death: either for one to surrender and be saved or choose to die.

When the word of God is preached according to His standard and not to our own selfish gain, we are sure to to communicate the full pack of God's word that already contains a caution of death to all men. And Hebrews 9:27 as in the Bible reads "it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:"

As we draw into every tomorrow, someone gets closer to his or her date of appointment. Somebody you are, hence a certain tomorrow, it shall be your turn to be handed this inevitable appointment of death.

This is the word of God.
Jesus says "Turn away from your sins. For the Kingdom of God is near". Call Jesus now and you shall you be saved. Amen. God bless you.
