14th February is a day for incurable romantics. Far from kissy and huggy affections, this year's day for what would usually be dedicated to just rosies, cakes and chocolates was a complete dilemma. People had to make the difficult decision between church, for those Orthodoxies who began their Lent Celebration with the Ash Wednesday, Valentine's Day and for football enthusiasts, the clash of the two European Giants.
However, at the University of Ghana, making a decision was made easy for both lovers of love and football. The JCR of Elizabeth Sey Hall in collaboration with SRC Presidential Hopeful Ewura Adams organized for the first time an event to share love while enjoying the game of football.
The event dubbed "Soccer Cinema Laced with Cupid Arrow" featured a live telecast of the UEFA Champions league match between Christiano Ronaldo's Real Madrid and Neymar's PSG on a giant screen. Hundreds of students trooped in to the premises of the event with their loved ones to cheer on their favourite teams while being served with free drinks and popcorn. Half time was spiced with Performances from CJ Biggerman, Arabic Man and Fameye who all gave students nothing but their best performances.
The match was no short of its expectation as both teams thrilled spectators to a scintillating encounter of football. The game ended with the Madridsters outscoring their opponents three goals to one.
University of Ghana SRC Presidential Hopeful Ewura Adams was pleased with the massive turnout of students who were excited by the initiative and pledged to have more of such events for students. The Presidential Hopeful has already garnered a reputation for himself as a huge brand strategist with his innovative programs. Last year, he organized the Leadership Renaissance Seminar the biggest student organised seminar till date and managed production for the biggest poetry show in Ghana so far ; the Sobolo plus chicken Poetry show with GOMBILLA. Many have already tipped Ewura Adams to win the University of Ghana SRC Elections.
