An Accra Circuit Court, presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh on Wednesday remanded one Samuel Nii Ahene Okine, self-employed into prison custody for using narcotic drugs without lawful authority.
Samuel, a resident of Afuaman, near Amasaman pleaded guilty to the charge but the case was adjourned for the prosecution to send the exhibits to the laboratory for examination.
He is to reappear on February 15. The facts of the case as presented by Police Chief Inspector Victor Dosoo were that the complainants are the Combat Five and Six Operational Team at the National Police Headquarters led by Inspector William Akakpo.
Chief Inspector Dosoo said on February 1, the Police visited Ayikai Doble on special duties and intercepted unregistered Yamaha motorbike ridden by Samuel.
He said a search conducted on him revealed three wrappers of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and a lighter.
Upon questioning, the accused person claimed ownership of the substance and stated that he bought it from an unknown seller at James Town beach.
