7 Ghanaian Children On A Russian Winter Adventure

On February the 8th forty-three children from 7 countries landed in Moscow for a traditional Russian winter adventure in the Penza region, located roughly 600 km South East from the capital city. The children are attending, "International Smart Holidays" – a “Rosatom School” project supported by State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom. The African continent is represented by 3 countries: Ghana, Kenya and South Africa.

The children will spend 10 days developing new skills and learning about traditional Russian Maslenit seek. Their days will be packed with artistic, athletic and cultural activities. For example, the children will play sports, stage their own theatrical performance, curate personal exhibitions, create educational quests and make friends across borders and language barriers.

“Rosatom is excited by the prospect of powering the youth through these innovative camps, which allow young people to meet their peers from across the globe and unlock their creative potential”, said Viktor Polikarpov, Rosatom regional vice-president for Sub-Saharan Africa.

The students will also get a chance to see Moscow: the Red Square, St. Basil's Cathedral, the Historical Museum, the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, the Moscow-City skyscraper complex, as well as panoramic views of the Kremlin. International Smart Holidays will take from February 10 to February 20.
