To say that millions across Ghana have been stunned and saddened by the tragic and sudden death of the young star singer, Priscilla Poku-Kwarteng, known popularly as Ebony, is not to exaggerate.
It has been the main talking point for many today. How cruel fate can be. Death has snatched an exceptionally talented singer and creative genius from her fans just when she was on the cusp of true greatness.
It is a measure of the impact her songs had on those who heard and danced to them that so many feel a personal sense of loss even thought they did not know her personally.
Above all, one feels for her loving father, Nana Poku-Kwarteng, whom she was apparently very close to and said to be her number one fan.
It is terrible to have to bury offspring that under normal circumstances one expects to bury one. We all commiserate with the effervescent Ebony's surviving family and mourn their tragic loss. May her soul rest in peace.
