Cape Coast Schools Receive Books From Oguaa Traditional Council

The Oguaa Traditional Council in collaboration with the Cape Coast Youth Development Association and the National Youth Authority has donated quantities of exercise books and reading materials to some selected schools in the Cape Coast North Constituency.

The beneficiary schools were; Pedu M/A 'A' and 'B' schools, Abura T.I Ahmadiyya Basic School, St. Anthony Anglican school, Esuekyir M/A school, Effutu Mampong M/A school and Brebedzi M/A.

The rest were; Ekon M/A Junior High School (JHS), Cape Coast Presbyterian JHS, Apostolic JHS, Mensah Sabah JHS, Amanful Catholic Boys JHS, Kwagyir Aggrey and Bakatsir Methodist JHS.

Presenting the books at separate locations, Nana Kwame Edu VI, the Tufuhen of the Oguaa Traditional Council, said the donation fell in line with the council's vision of ensuring good quality education in the metropolis.

He said the gesture was also to help encourage and inculcate in the pupils the habit of learning to enable them benefit fully from the government's free education policy.

He assured that the traditional council in collaboration with key stakeholders would continue to implement measures that would help address the challenges the schools faced within the metropolis.

They were also advised to eschew all forms of negative attitudes that could derail their future ambitions and should therefore focus on their education.

Mr Kwabena Spio-Garbrah, an Executive Member of CCYDA also encouraged the students to take their studies seriously by living by the motto of their school: hardwork and perseverance.'

At Abura, Mr Abdullai Bin Abdullai, Assistant Head teacher of the School who received the items assured that the items would be fairly distributed and appealed to the students to learn hard to become responsible citizens in future.
