Odawna Traders clean surroundings

Accra, Aug. 3, GNA - Traders at Odawna near the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, in Accra on Wednesday embarked upon a clean up exercise to complement the efforts of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly to rid the city of filth.

The women among the more than 200 traders spent over an hour clearing plastic and other waste while their male counterparts weeded and de-silted the gutters.

Mr Kwaku Sarkodie, Spokesperson for the group, told GNA that the exercise, which was initiated years ago, was carried out every Wednesday.

"Cleanliness is next to godliness," he said, and appealed to others to join in the exercise.
