Accountant Launches Campaign For NPP-USA National Treasurer Position

A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and renowned Charlotte Chapter Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party, U.S.A (NPP-USA) Branch, Emmanuel Kwame Darko, has launched his campaign for the National Treasurer. He was born and raised in the Golden City, Obuasi West Constituency. He has been the Charlotte Chapter Treasurer since the inception of the chapter in 2012. He was one of the young people who pioneered the chapter with Dr. Fred Kyei Asamoah (Executive Director of COVET and 1^st Vice Chair of NPP-USA).

Mr. Darko earned his Master of Accountancy (MACC), Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC). Akatakyie Emmanuel Darko is an alumnus of Opoku Ware School. He is also a member of the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants (NCACPA), the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA), the Institute of Internal Auditors (IAA), and Information System Audit & Control Association (ISACA).

Emmanuel is a young accounting professional whose accounting and financial apt has contributed numerously to the success of the Charlotte Chapter and NPP-USA while his Party was in opposition. His innovative strategies able his chapter to collect about 110% pledge/fundraising receivables. This is an outstanding effort and achievement for the chapter and the Party. He plans to bring such strategies to the NPP-USA national level to help elevate the branch to an epitome of financial strength. He also plans to bring transparency in the operational and financial affairs of the branch to the grassroots in the diaspora who support the branch and NPP in or out of government. He said NPP-USA members and sympathizers deserve to know how their resources are been spent by the National Executive Committee (NEC).

As an accountant, he plans to bring accountability and transparency in the affairs to the same people who enable the branch. NPP-USA and NPP need someone with strong accounting and party experience to ensure that the branch continue to stay in power, and able accountability to the same people who put us [NPP] in government. Mr. Darko said his innovative millennial agenda will continue to champion the success of NPP-USA in the 2016 electoral victory in Ghana and sustain the power in 2020.

Emmanuel Kwame Darko, CPA whose professional experience include working as an internal auditor of a financial institution, accounting professor (adjunct), risk advisory consultant with a public accounting firm, and information technology compliance officer in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Mr. Darko has supported various efforts to bring peace, law and order in his beloved city, Obuasi. He created an online petition for “Obuasi Must Not Die” with 158 signatures to the previous administration to restore Obuasi which gained momentum for His Excellency Akufo-Addo to pledge to revive AngloGold Ashanti.
