THE ASHANTI Regional Police Command has appealed to the public to feed them with vital information about miscreants in society so they can be arrested from their dens before they can even plan to strike.

COP Ken Yeboah, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, who made the passionate appeal, flatly refuted wild speculation and belief that the police usually expose informants to hoodlums to endanger their lives.

According to him, there is no iota of truth in the unfounded allegations, which is all over the place, therefore the public should treat it with the contempt that it deserves and support the police with information about criminals.

The Ashanti Regional Police Commander stated that contrary to the blatant lies that the police tend to expose informants, policemen are well trained to keep vital information and also protect their informants.

In this regard, he entreated the public to freely visit police stations and offer vital information about miscreants, who are living with them, so that the law enforcement agents can apprehend them on time.

The Ashanti Regional Police Commander was speaking during the official commissioning of an ultra-modern looking police station at Ahenema Kokoben in the Atwima Kwanwoma District on Thursday.

A known philanthropist and a native of the area, Professor Dr. Lukemon Owusu Ansah, personally used his own resources to build the police station to help the police boost security in the community.

COP Yeboah, continuing, urged the public to have faith and trust in the police, with regards to ensuring law and order in the country, stressing that the police are more than ready and determine to deal with crime.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, entreated individuals and corporate organizations to support the police with the requisite infrastructure and logistics so they can properly deal with hoodlums.

He wholeheartedly commended Prof. Dr. Lukemon Owusu Ansah for his benevolent gesture to the police, stressing that the NPP government is ready to partner with the private sector to enhance security in the country.
