Nandom (UW), Aug 02, GNA - The United Kingdom branch of Foundation for Rural Education Empowerment and Development (FREED), a Nandom-based non-governmental organisation, on Monday presented items valued at 7.2 million cedis to the Nandom Hospital.

The items were made up of bed sheets, towels, blankets, pillowcases, and syringes and children clothing.

Dr Felix Dery Tuopar, the leader of the five-member delegation who presented the items, said it was part of their plans to complement the efforts of the government to bring good health to the doorsteps of everyone.

"We are doing everything possible to continue to support deprived people and communities to get themselves out of poverty, illiteracy and diseases."

He said the FREED was not happy that the Nandom Hospital, which used to be one of the best in the country, is in such a deplorable state. Mr David Yakubu, Upper West Regional Co-ordinating Director who received the items, thanked members of FREED for the donation.
