Nkonya Tayi School Gets Support From Ghana Army Southern Command

The Southern Command of the Ghana Army has donated an amount GH¢ 5,110.00 to Nkonya Tayi District Assembly Junior High School.

Major Edward Sarpong Appiah, Commander Rear, 66 Artillery Regiment who made the presentation on behalf of the Command said the gesture was in response to a request from authorities of the School to refurbish some classrooms in view of increased in students' population.

He said the Military High Command in Accra took up the request to foster civil-military relationship and to enhance operations of the Command in the Nkonya area.

Mr. Onny Botwe, Head teacher, Nkonya Tayi DA JHS expressed gratitude to the Ghana Army and said the donation would help curb the sharing of furniture by students during teaching hours.

He appealed for more furniture and asked for the continued presence of the military in the area towards maintaining peace.
