MP For Agona West Holds Feast For The Aged And Needy
28.01.2018 LISTEN

Mrs. Cynthia Morrison, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West, has fed more than 3,000 aged and the vulnerable in the area as part of her annual get-together.

The participants, who were hosted at the Agona Nyakrom Community Centre, were given packages by the MP and danced to brass band music.

Mrs Morrison, in an address, said it was important for people who had been blessed by God to show appreciation by extending a hand of support to the vulnerable in society.

She said: 'As one people with a common destiny we should not allow politics to divide us, but should always ensure that we put smiles on the faces of our senior citizens who had laboured for our nation.'

The MP gave the assurance that the get-together would be extended to other communities like Lower and Upper Bobikuma, Agona Abodom, and Ostenkorang in the Constituency.

Mrs Morrison said the New Patriotic Party needed peace and stability to progress and urged the rank and file to bury their difference, adding; 'United we stand, but divided we fall to the advantage of our enemies.'

She asked party supporters to emulate the enviable leadership skills of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to woo other supporters for the NPP.

Mrs Morrison said the implementation of the Free Senior High School, Planting for Food and Jobs, Free Textbooks Supply, establishment of Northern, Middle and Coastal Belt Authorities were empirical evidence of President Akufo-Addo's eagerness to curb poverty and unemployment.

She said the economic management team, being led by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, was on course to reversing the fragile economy.

The function was graced by Mr Frank Abban, the Agona West Municipal Presiding Member, Mr Kofi Osei Somuah, Agona West Constituency Organizer of the NPP, Mrs Ama Edufuah, prospective Agona West Women Organiser among others.
