The District Chief Executive for Prestea Huni-Valley, Hon Mozart K. Owuh Monday 22nd January 2018 cut sod for a 4-Unit classroom block with other facilities for Prestea Senior High Technical School and a culvert at Himan.

As part of the Assembly's commitment to developing the District is using the Mineral development fund to build the infrastructure base of the various institutions across the length and breath of the District.

DCE CUTS SOD FOR TWO STRATEGIC PROJECTS IN PRESTEA

The humble DCE for Prestea Huni-Valley District, Hon. Mozart K. Owuh has in very glamorous, strategic and supersonic style cut sod today for the commencements of two vital projects that will culminate to the betterment of Prestea and its environs.

The DCE, Hon. Mozart K. Owuh was speaking earlier this afternoon to Prestea Communicators for Development (PCD) at Prestea Senior High Technical School, “we are here to cut sod for the second phase of a four-unit classroom with ancillary facilities.

I earlier on cut sod for the construction of 1 No. 2 Cell Pipe Culvert at Prestea – Himan”. The details of the projects are:

ONE:

PROJECT:

Construction of second phase of a two 4-Unit Classroom at Prestea Senior High Technical School.

DURATION:

6 months

SOURCE OF FUNDING:

Mineral Development Fund (MDF)

CONTRACTOR:

Willconah Construction Ltd.

CONSULTANT:

District Works Department.

WORK FORCE:

75% of the Workforce should come from Prestea and its environs.

TWO:

PROJECT:

Construction of 1 No. 2 Cell Pipe Culvert at Prestea – Himan

DURATION:

6 months

CONTRACTOR:

Claye Engineering and Exploration Ltd.

CONSULTANT:

District Works Department

WORK FORCE:

75% of the Workforce should come from Prestea and its environs.

SOURCE OF FUNDING:

Mineral Development Fund (MDF).

“The district has seen it wise to give back to the people whose land minerals are taken from” Hon. Owuh added.

“In addition to this, my government has also selected two Senior High Schools in the Prestea Huni-Valley District to benefit from a 12-Unit Classroom blocks each.

I am happy to announce to you that Prestea Senior High School (Prestech) and Huni-Valley Senior High School (Hunivass)have been selected, thanks to our Hon MP Mrs Barbara Oteng-Gyasi ( Wassa Hemaa) for her tireless efforts and lobbying” he added in a happy mood.

The duration for the two projects is 8-months, and the contractors are getting ready to commence any moment from now, even that of Hunivass will start work tomorrow” the DCE added.

“All these are efforts by my governments to ensure that its flagship programme, “the fantastic” FREE SHS policy continues from glory to glory”, the humble DCE added.

The DCE, further “thanked GSBPL for commencing the second phase of a project it has started earlier”. This goes to affirm government and stakeholder commitment to improving the quality of education in the District.

Nana Nteboah Prah IV, the Divisional Chief of Prestea-Himan Traditional Area pleaded with the contractor to “work hard within the stipulated duration given” to ensure the projects gets completed as scheduled. “I am grateful to the DCE and the Assembly for this important project” the revered Chief added.

As part of the DCE's working visit which started last week, he proceeded with his entourage to Prestea Urban Council to interact with council members over the impending elections of council chairman.
