Let's Work Together To Protect Children

The Sekyere East Deputy District Coordinating Director, Mr. Henry Yeboah, has called for all to work together to provide strong protection for children to promote their growth and development.

This, he said, required encouraging them - giving them the confidence to report to the appropriate authorities their abusers.

He was addressing a meeting of the District Child Protection Committee at Effiduase.

Mr. Yeboah spoke of their determination to go the extra mile to fight cruelty and violence against the child in the area through the combination of public education and enforcement of the law.

He urged chiefs, family heads and other influential people in the various communities to overcome the temptation to shield child abusers.

They should not allow anybody to get away with any violation of the child, he added.

Mr. Joseph Kwogyenga, Sekyere East Cluster Manager of World Vision Ghana, underlined the need to put premium on child education and said that was the way forward to assure them of a better future.

He encouraged parents not to engage children in any hazardous work and said their place should be the school.
