An Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday granted bail to one Randy Kyei, a washing Bay Attendant in the sum of GH¢5,000 for use of narcotic drug without lawful authority.

The accused person, whose plea was not taken, would reappear on February 15.

Chief Inspector Victor Dosoo told the court that complainants in the case were Police Officers stationed at National Police Headquarters.

He said on January 14 at about 2:00am, the complainants were detailed to conduct a swoop at Kwabenya and its environs, where the accused works.

He said the team on reaching Justorch Spot around the area carried out a raid and arrested nine persons, including the accused.

The Prosecution said he was seen smoking something wrapped in a small brownish paper suspected to be a narcotic drug.

He said the accused was later handed over to the Police at Kwabenya together with the suspected drug for investigation.

The exhibit is to be forwarded to the Police Forensic laboratory for analytic examination and report.
