The BD Associates Ghana Limited has donated 400 boxes of assorted CHOCOMAC products to Cocoa farmers and School Children in three communities in Agona West Municipality.

The beneficiary communities were; Agona Nyarkrom, EduKrom and Agona Otsenkorang.

Agona Nyarkrom community received 160 boxes, EduKrom had 130 boxes, and Otsenkorang community had 110 boxes and each box contained 8 packages of the products.

Making the presentation and distribution of the products at the various communities; Mr. John Anakwa, Chief Operation Officer of the Company said, BD Associates Ghana Limited is a company into production of CHACOMAC which is made up of Mass/Liquor Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Cake Natural/Alkalized, and Cocoa Power Natural/ Alkalized.

According to him, the donation formed part of their social responsibilities to society, aimed at making the farmers to enjoy products made by the cocoa beans and to encourage them to improve upon their farming activities to produce more quality cocoa beans.

He said, since the establishment of the company, they had donated some of their products to cocoa farming communities for them to enjoy the fruits of their labour and plans were far advanced to sponsor them to the factory to know how the beans were turned into CHOCOMAC products.

At Agona Nyarkrom, Nana Ebusuapayin Kobina Arthur on behalf of the Traditional Council thanked the company for the donation and expressed the hope that in the future they would add some farming inputs to the package to boost their moral.

Nana K. Dadzie, regent of Edukrom and Mr Paul Akyirem Assembly Man for Otsenkorang electoral area expressed their appreciation to donors for the gesture.

They appealed to the government to rehabilitate and tar the road from Agona Nyarkrom linking their communities for free movement of goods and services.

They stated that lack of accommodation had compelled teachers posted to the communities to be commuting daily from Agona Nyakrom to their various schools and appealed for the construction of teachers' quarters to retain them.
