Nana Kwachi Onsurogyea XVIII Odikro of Gomoa Nduem has appealed to the Government to take measures to curb sand wining and land guard menace in the country.

He said the hiring of people to protect lands and selling of lands for illegal sand winning activities by chiefs and care takers of lands was a security threat to Nation.

Nana Kwachi Onsurogyea suggested that government should start a discussion around such practices to discourage and end it.

The Chief made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency after a consultative meeting with his elders to strategize towards development of the area.

He said Chiefs, Land owners, Land Guards and Sand winners usually failed to adhere to security and environmental laws and urged government to tackle it as its been done with the 'Galamsey' (Illegal mining) menace

He further appealed to the government to facilitate the completion of the road network from Ankamu Junction through Gomoa Ajumako that links to Agona Swedru for free movement of goods and services.

He said the uncompleted road produces a lot of dust and results in making the people suffer respiratory as a result of the dust they inhale.

Nana Ebusuapain Kofi Quansah called on Ghanaians to rally behind the government to facilitate the development all Ghanaians crave for.
