The current relaxation in atmospheric dryness in the southern part of Ghana is the result of in-coming moisture from the sea.

The country, however, is still in the Harmattan season, which is expected to end within the month of February in Southern Ghana, and March in the northern part of the country.

Mr Tettey Portuphy, the Head of Forecast Session of the Ghana Meteorological Agency, told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that it was possible for the Harmattan conditions to intensify once more, before the season finally came to an end.

He said in the North, however, the Harmattan remained in its typical form, unlike the coastal areas of the country.

Ghana is currently experiencing the dry or Harmattan season, which is characterised by mild to extreme atmospheric dryness, and reduced visibility, especially at night and early in the morning, due to hazy weather conditions.
