Unite Africa Now, Stop The Call For An Apology

Few days ago, the African continent received news on a comment levelled against them by the President of United States of America, Donald Trump, after a bi-partisan meeting with cabinet and some authorities, and was reported of referring Africa, Haiti and the rest as "shithole" countries.

The continent's mother body, African Union, and some African Heads of State, were quick in responding to the the alleged comment from Mr. Donald Trump, figuratively 'attacking' the US President, with some Ghanaian leaders following same.

A reply from former President H.E John Dramani Mahama and His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo all from Ghana and Africa at large is enough of a wake-up call on Africans to rethink.

Replying to a comment made by a leader of a first world country like the United States should spark the need for Africa to unite now more than before towards a mindset of achievement and economic independence, not necessarily calling for an apology.

What this mean is that Africa must set her priorities and fast track their collective economic agendas to ensure that they develop at a faster rate to widen the net to get their citizens employed and develop their home lands.

The dream of Nkrumah and Gaddafi must be put into action now! *such as the United States of Africa and industrialization policies*.

Most citizens of Africa literally spend their productive days to queue at the US and other embassies applying to acquire a Visa and travel. Yet, majority of applicants get denied of access.

Not quite long ago, Africa was ranked the most continent to be denied US visas. There are lots of Ghanaians and Africans who were tortured in the United States but has no voice because Africans are seen as inferior.

As Africans are reduced to inferior beings, it is needless to rely back and wait for an apology. It does not necessarily mean to demand an apology or insult back. Africa is heavily endowed with lots of resources -natural and human-, and has what it takes to be bigger than the US or the so called powerful nation.

Africans need to rethink, and put these resources they possess to use, in order to desist from their habit of consistently saying "Thank You" after begging and a token is been given because as the saying goes, "if you have your mouth in someone's kitchen, you have no say when the person goes or does wrong".

The time has come for the African Union (AU), Economic Community for West African States (ECOWAS) to stand up today to form the bloc of Africa. The United States of Africa can only work if we tell the 'powerful nations' that we are not what they perceive us to be.

Africa's resources can be used to develop the whole continent if the rulers of our nations desist from forming family and friends government and also creating a loot and share government. Not forgetting of what has transpired in Libya where some Africans are sold in a broad day light, chained, and killed for their sensitive parts by their own black people, is enough for us to go back to our drawing board.

A modern day slavery in the African continent administered by Africans is adequate for Heads of State to unite to fight such menace. Such an inhumane act is what has projected Africa to the out world in such manner.

Let us not wait for the foreign nations to tell us what we are because we know who we are.

It is therefore needless and immature to be calling on the US President to render an apology. Would an apology take the words back to his mouth? Absolutely no!

Have Africans forgotten a wise saying that "when a mentally deranged man takes your pants and you run after him, both of you are regarded as mad".

Form the United States of Africa now and develop the sub regions to make the African continent great and strong. Let us prove that we are actually not from a "shithole" as perceived.

African leaders must act now!
