Students Urged To Join TESCON To Learn The Ideologies And Philosophies Of NPP

The Polling Station Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP) at Akrobi in the Wenchi Constituency, in the Brong-Ahafo Region, Mr. Shadrack Abrefa Mensah, has entreated the party’s youth in the various Tertiary institutions both in Ghana and abroad to join the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) to learn the ideologies, philosophies and principles of the party.

Mr. Abrefa Mensah said this in a statement copied to The Chronicle in Sunyani to mark the 18th anniversary of the establishment of TESCON

“I humbly entreat the youth of our noble party, the NPP at our various Tertiary institutions both in Ghana and the diaspora to see the need to join the most vibrant and enlightening students politicking association to abreast themselves with the ideologies, philosophies and principles of our party”, Mr. Abrefa Mensah said

According to him, the TESCON, as the student’s wing of the party, has the potentials to equip them with the prerequisite leadership competencies to take over the mantle of political and civil leadership roles.

“TESCON has the utmost potentials to equip the youth of the NPP in the various campuses with the prerequisite leadership competencies to take over the mantle of political and civil leadership roles”, he said

He commended the pioneers of the party’s tertiary wing, and described the contributions of the association as immense and instrumental in the party's structures.

“I wish to commend the pioneers of the party's Tertiary wing, the Tertiary students Confederacy (TESCON) and describe the contribution of the association as immense and instrumental in the party's structures”, he said in the statement.

The NPP Organiser mentioned the likes of Hon. Asenso Boachie, Hon. Abu Jinapor, Hon. Nana Boachie, Mr. Alfred Ofori Annye and himself who were members of the TESCON during their school days to justify the fact that the association has nurtured great transformational young political leaders who have strengthened the party's youth base.

“On the 18th anniversary of the inception of the association, I wish to note that the likes of Hon. Asenso Boachie, Hon. Abu Jinapor, Hon. Nana Boachie, Mr. Alfred Ofori Annye and myself and our likes who were members of the TESCON justify that the association has been able breed great transformational young political leaders who have strengthened the party's youth base and brought some level of hope and youthfulness into the rank and file of the party”, the statement added.

Mr. Abrefa Mensah, who is aspiring for the position of the Brong-Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser of the NPP, reminded the youth of the party that it important for them to consolidate the gains made in the 2016 general elections and not allow petty squabbles to derail party’s progress in the region.
