Freda Prempeh Donates Medical Equipment To Yamfo Health Centre

The Member of Parliament for the Tano North Constituency in the Brong Ahafo region, Hon. Freda Akosua Prempeh,on Monday presented some medical equipment running into thousands of Ghana Cedis to the Yamfo Health Centre to facilitate healthcare delivery in the constituency.

The items made up of Hospital beds, Oxygen Cylinders, Examination couch, Microscope,Water Distilling panel and crutches.

The rest include Mobile operating light,Nebulizers,Examination Gloves and among other things.

Hon. Freda Prempeh in an interview with Sunyani based radio Ahomka 90.5FM after the presentation said health needs of the people in the constituency and beyond had been her major concern hence the donation to augment healthcare delivery.

She said the items will help the centre to provide adequate and proper care to its numerous attendants and patients.

"Education,Healthcare,sanitation,good water and roads are my major concern and I will continue to do my best for people in my constituency to enjoy it" she said.

She said Soon Ministry of Health will upgrade the Yamfo Health Centre to the status of a Polyclinic.

Hon. Freda Prempeh,who is also Deputy Minister of Works and Housing urged doctors and staff to take good care of the expensive equipment so as to ensure attendants and patients derive the necessary benefits from it.

The MP, promised to visit of the hospital from time to time to assess their needs and to support them.

The MP said the Government investing massively in the health sector in the area of upgrading and building of new health facilities.

She revealed that soon the NPP government’s will provide 275 ambulances to all the districts in the country.

Mrs. Charlotte Anane Agyei, a physician Assistant at the Yamfo Health Center, who received the equipments, said she was grateful for the gesture and thanked the MP for the donation.

She said the yamfo Health center offers health delivery services to greater number of the surrounding population in the constituency and that the intervention was timely as Plans are underway for the Ministry of Health to upgrade the Yamfo Health Centre to the status of a Polyclinic.

Meanwhile,Tano North District Director of the Ghana Health Service said Mr. Kofi Andoh,the Tano North District Health Director, also thanked the MP and said he will make sure that the items would be put into good use to serve the people in the catchment area.
