Apostle Professor Samuel Asuming-Brempong of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI), says although so many people are looking up to human beings for favour, promotion comes from God.
He said God is a faithful God; and that God is always seeking faithfulness in his children in order to promote them.
Speaking at the 27th Annual General Council Meeting of GCCI Ghana, at Shai Hills in the Dangbe West District of the Greater Accra Region, Apostle Asuming-Brempong urged Christians, who want to be promoted to seek God's way.
Quoting from the Bible, Apostle Asuming-Brempong said "for promotion cometh neither from the East, nor from the West, nor from the south. But God is the judge: he put down one, and set up another".
The four-day meeting was on the theme: "Imitating Christ"was attended by over 160 Pastors and Presiding Elders of the Church.
Apostle Asuming-Brempong said Christians were servants of God and that they were also stewards of the mysteries of God; "and therefore, what God required of man was faithfulness.
"For us in the Lord, there is only one source of promotion, God. So if you want promotion seek your Father. Seek him! Why? Because the one who gives the promotion is God".
Apostle Asuming-Brempong urged Christians to stir up their God-given gifts. "So stir it up, if you sit down, you will think that the gift that you have received will do anything?'.
'It will die. It will be like the talent that is buried in the ground, it won't amount to anything. But if you trade with it you will get more profit".
He explained that stirring up the gift means you do something with your God given gift.
He also urged Christians to work hard with their gifts; declaring that "let's do our part and God will bless us".
Apostle Asuming-Brempong, who recounted how God took him from a very humble beginning through the various educational ladder to the PhD level, also expressed gratitude to God for his goodness towards him.
