Nana Kow Ponsi Re-Elected As Presiding Member For Agona East District Assembly

The Presiding Member for the Agona East District Assembly in the Central Region, Nana Kow Ponsi II has been re-elected for another term of office.

All the 30 Assembly Members present voted for him to retain his seat. Earlier. A former Presiding Member, Mr. Samuel Richard Zigah had shown interest in the race but pull out later citing personal reasons and his respect for Nana Kow Ponsi.

The Agona East District Director of the Electoral Commission, Madam Patience Shebrah declared Nana Kow Ponsi II Presiding Member-elect and was subsequently sworn into office by the Agona Swedru District Magistrate Court Judge, His Worship Isaac Appiatu after swearing the various oaths of office.

In his acceptance speach, Nana Kow Ponsi commended the Assembly members for his re-election assuring them of quality leadership.

He has therefore called for unity and cooperation to implement the developmental agenda of the Assembly adding his priority is to ensure economic freedom for the people.

" I like to assure this Hourable house that my leadership style will never change. You have been with me even in hard times and hope it would be sustained. I thanked you very much for the confidence imposed in me and promise not to disappoint you.

The Agona East District Assembly like all other Assemblies has some challenges. It's only when we work together as a team that we can achieve our goals aimed at improving the livelihood our our people"

Agona East DCE, Hon. Dennis Armah Frempong announced facelift projects the Assembly was going to undertake in the various communities.

He cited reshaping of roads, renovation of some deplorable school buildings, construction of new classroom blocks, construction of health facilities and new market centres among others.

" The Assembly is posed to implement all government programs and policies in the district. Planting for Food and Jobs, One District One Factory among others are ongoing. The youth have embraced the programs.

I like to thank Nananom for their contributions towards the growth of the district. I equally thank Assembly Members for their role in ensuring the wellbeing of the people in their various electoral areas"

Assembly Member for Kwesitwikwaa (KTK), Mr. Albert Quainoo in an interview with newsmen disclosed that the Assembly performed creditably in its revenue mobilization adding that plans were far advance to boost collection of tolls and levies for the Assembly

The Assembly Member on behlf of his colleagues assured the Presiding Member of their support and cooperation for him to realise his fission and mission for the Assembly Members and Agona East as a whole.

Presiding Member for Gomoa East District Assembly, Mr. Kweku Nyarko Koomson and his counterpart from Agona West Municipal Assembly, Mr. Frank Abban were present to offer their solidarity to Nana Kow Ponsi II.
